This is the ReadMe file for Foil 1.2, a Macintosh airfoil generation and display program. Foil 1.2 is System 6/7 happy, meaning it should run equally well under both systems. Foil is free, but not public domain. I retain all rights, and it may not be distributed in modified form, or without any of the files. Since it's free, please read the file "A Note About the Author".
This version adds airfoil comparision, the scan method is finished, and the hi-res printing works correctly for any airfoil chord. It should work on all Macs. Several new airfoils have been included from various sources.
As an added feature to ease the task of entering airfoils, airfoil coordinates can now be separated with an asterisk (*). I use TeachText to type them in, and I find its easier to hit the asterisk key on the numeric keypad than to go searching for the tab or comma keys.
